The physicians and staff at Contemporary Women’s Health have the knowledge and experience to provide
Complete & current care for Women
Kimberly A. Roberts, MD, FACOG
“When you walk into our office, I want you to feel the compassion we have for women. When Dr Yang and I opened this practice in 2007, we had a vision to provide care that was evolving with current literature and recommendations. We are an all female practice that strives to provide the best medical care on all issues that women face because we are walking the same path as our patients. I try to educate my patients about their choices when it comes to the obstacles they face. I love taking care of families of women and now I’ve been around long enough that I’m getting to care for multigenerational families of women. I enjoy offering minimally invasive surgery to my patients so they can get back to life quicker. And of course, the miracle of life in obstetrics is something I feel honored to share with my expecting mothers. Unfortunately, there are challenges in life that we face so we are here to help you navigate those obstacles as well. In fact, we have likely faced them as well, so we can relate to the struggles.
In my personal life, I am married with a beautiful blended family that includes eight children. I grew up in Texas and graduated from Texas A&M, but have lived in Tennessee since 2000. I love college sports, so I root for the Vols unless they are playing my Aggies. As my kids have gotten older and are now flying the coop, I have enjoyed traveling to see new places and learn about different cultures.
We look forward to meeting you and walking through this journey of life with you.”

I consider myself incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to care for my patients throughout the majority of their lives. It is a deeply rewarding privilege to share in my patients’ triumphs and heartbreaks, and I always hope to provide them with excellent care throughout it all. I enjoy all aspects of OBGYN, from delivering babies to surgical management to well woman visits. My aim is always to provide evidence-based care and to equip my patients with the knowledge they need to feel confident in their healthcare decisions.
I grew up in Crossville, Tennessee, just an hour drive down I-40. When I’m not taking care of my patients, I am spending time with my husband and two children. We enjoy spending time outdoors, good food, and visiting local breweries. I’m an avid runner, an amateur baker, and a diehard North Carolina Tar Heels fan.

“From the moment I had my first L&D clinical in nursing, I knew women’s health is where I belonged. After being an L&D nurse for a few years, I wanted to further my education to care for women at a higher level. Getting to know my patients to understand and individualize their healthcare needs is one of my favorite parts of being a provider. I am excited to care for women throughout each stage of their lives and create a comfortable environment for my patients as we go through this journey together.”
Abbey is from a small town, Kingston, TN but now resides in Knoxville with her husband. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, being on the lake in the summer, Tennessee sports, and reading a good book. Go Vols!
